DESCRIPTION KEY ROLE
Develop next generation optical systems incorporating Peak Nano’s proprietary nano-layered polymer gradient index of refraction (LGRIN) optical lenses for a wide range of markets including defense, biomedical, automation, and entertainment. Working as part of an agile process development team reporting directly to the Development Director, the successful candidate will work closely with the lens finishing operations and optical metrology to define prototype and pilot production quality metrics and procedures.
Interface with Peak Nano’s internal LGRIN manufacturing team to develop lens finishing manufacturing methods by rigorously investigating the impact of process variations on optical element quality and guiding future manufacturing process improvements.
Manage the day-to-day operations of the optical metrology lab. Includes priority scheduling of experiments and ensuring timely deliveries. Developing procedures to organize incoming material and disposition of test elements and results.
Create finished goods QC specifications and procedures. Including specification conformance documentation, handling, and shipping requirements.
Evaluate quality of LGRIN materials and optics using commercial optical metrology equipment (e.g. interferometers, spectro-photometers, line profilometer, etc.)
Vendor qualification for optical coatings, bonding doublets, and edge treatments.
