Overview:
Oncorus is looking for an Associate Scientist, Pharmacology to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess demonstrated experience in generation new mouse tumor models using patient-derived and/or cell line derived specimens. He/she should have excellent scientific and personal communication skills and flexibility in working across multiple projects through collaboration with colleagues, vendors, and CRO partners.

Summary of Key Responsibilities:
Establish and maintain cell banks to support in vivo pharmacology research team. Generate, assess, and maintain engineered stable cell lines and mouse tumor models. Support in vivo pharmacology team in isolating, banking, and characterizing primary immune cells. Develop and/or optimize (or collaborate with other functional groups) the necessary molecular or immunological assays to support pharmacology study objectives. Train to conduct in vivo studies with mouse tumor models, including xenograft, syngeneic, and humanized models. Contribute to technical reports for patent applications, IND filings, and scientific publications. Present results to team, management, and external conferences. Displays ability to adapt to frequent change and thrive in a dynamic and entrepreneurial early-stage environment, high degree of maturity, honesty, and integrity.
Qualifications:
B.S. in the biological sciences or a closely related field with at least 2 years of relevant laboratory experience in academia or industry. M.S. in the biological sciences or a closely related field with at least 1 year of relevant laboratory experience in academia or industry. Experience in aseptic culture techniques, cell bank generation and maintenance. Experience in, or willingness to learn, cell line engineering using state-of-art molecular biology techniques. Working knowledge of, or a willingness to be trained in, analytical techniques such as flow cytometry, ELISA, MSD, qPCR and/or Nano string. Hands-on experience working with small laboratory animals and ex vivo sample processing is highly desired. Literacy in common software such as Microsoft Office Applications and Prism.
