EHS and Facility Manager

Summary


Forge Nano Inc, a fast-growing materials company with a focus on manufacturing nano-scale coatings across a wide range of markets, is seeking an EHS and Facility Manager reporting to the Admin Department and the senior management team. This position will address all matters related to the headquarters and manufacturing facility, as well as leading the continued design, implementation, assessment and reporting for the company-wide environmental health and safety program.


Key Responsibilities


Implement policies to ensure a safe and healthy work environment. Ensure compliance with city, state and federal permits and regulations Develop and implement inspection policies and procedures; schedule routine inspections Prepare, track and execute employee training related to emergency procedures, workplace safety, new employee orientation, and facility documentation practices Lead bi-weekly Safety Committee meetings. Conduct Job Safety Analysis, Industrial Hygiene Assessments, Ergonomic Assessments and Equipment Safety Inspections Manage site waste streams and schedule disposals and recycling. Implement waste reduction efforts and recycling programs. Assist with processing Worker's Compensation claims and Illness and Injury Recordkeeping per OSHA requirements. Establish satellite waste areas and regularly assure compliance Monitor compliance with safety procedures. Record and track Near Misses and Incidents, compile EHS metrics. Conduct incident investigations and implement corrective and preventative actions Ensure facility is well maintained (Perform weekly walk-throughs to assess egress conditions, process area cleanliness, PPE availability, and visible hazard identification. Assign actions as needed.). Ensure major maintenance or renovation projects are executed on-time and on-budget Collaborate with senior team members on design and construction projects including securing and managing subcontractors required to complete the job. Facilitate HAZOP for existing or new systems and processes Coordinate and manage external safety assessments Negotiate with landlord and external vendors for facility-related supplies, repairs and other measures Coordinate and facilitate new lab area or equipment installations with the technical teams (Ops, R&D, Eng, QC, etc) including securing and managing subcontractors required to complete the job. Develop and train relevant staff on LOTO procedures and assure compliance

Experience


Three-to-five years previous EH&S experience in a manufacturing environment Five years of facility management experience in a manufacturing environment Extensive knowledge of environmental safety regulations and policies Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Proficient in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections Familiarity with IFC, NFPA, and NEC codes as it pertains to facility safety Familiarity with combustible dust, pyrophoric liquids, and other manufacturing hazards

Education & Certifications


Bachelors degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial hygiene, or related field required; Masters degree desirable. Certified safety professional, or equivalent Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software 40 Hour HAZWOPER Certification or ability to obtain

Work Environment


This position will require daily on-site work and cannot be performed remotely. Some supervisory duties may be performed remotely. The individual will be required to wear all appropriate safety equipment including but not limited to eye protection, gloves, steel toe shoes, lab coat, and in the plant, a hard hat when appropriate. An employee in this position works in an environment in which safety, environmental and health concerns may demand constant attention. Strict adherence to corporate and/or plant policies, rules and regulations in these areas is required.

Compensation


Salaried: $60k - $75k DOE
