How will you make an impact?
As part of the Electron Microscopy team within the Materials and Structural Analysis Division (MSD), you will write software that works closely with the microscope hardware to improve the performance, reliability, and functionality of these captivating machines that allow our users to enter into the nano world and have a look around! You will join a talented team of twelve other innovative, R&D software engineers whose work is the driving force behind controlling our microscopes.
What will you do?
Research and develop innovative microscope alignment algorithms using image processing techniquesImplement algorithms using C# and C++ softwarePerform design of experiments on hardware to validate alignmentsWork with system engineers to ensure your solutions meet their requirementsCollaborate regularly with our global network of colleagues, including international travel 1-2 weeks/yearBuild strong team foundations and add to our shared insights and experience
How will you get here?
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, Physics or related technical discipline; Master’s or PhD degree is a plus
Experience
2+ years of software development or application engineering with recent coding experience in C++ and C# technologies
