Position description

We are seeking a postdoctoral associate to join Laboratory for AI, Robotics and Automation (LARA) in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of California, Davis. The position will require in-depth knowledge and experience with the control of Unmanned Surface Vehicles (USV). The special focus will be on USV control under flood and high-speed flow conditions. LARA is a well-funded laboratory with close ties to industry, working towards industry 4.0 and the next generation of automation and robotic systems. In addition to fundamental and theoretical research, LARA is active in a diverse range of applications e.g., in automotive, highway maintenance and construction, medicine and nano-scale material visualization and manipulation.


Qualifications Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

Candidates must hold a PhD in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related fields with extensive research and hands-on experience in control system design. Candidates must also have strong written and oral communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
