Job Summary

Provide technical support in a professional manner to the manufacturing operation located at the Corona plant. The requirements listed below are representative skill and/or abilities required. This includes knowledge and experience in boiler and steam systems, HVAC, freon refrigeration systems, air compressors, plumbing, electrical/lighting, water treatment, use of hand tools, mechanically inclined. Essential Functions and Responsibilities (not restrictive)

Observes the daily manufacturing process and communicate and/or implement improvements to the operation. Maintains the operation in a manner that conforms to Local, State, AIB and Food Safety Standards required by Glanbia Nutritionals. Follows Glanbia Nutritionals guidelines for Good Manufacturing Practices when performing the requirements of this position. Performs daily rounds and take readings of plant utility equipment, which would include boiler/steam systems, compressed air systems, cooling towers, Freon refrigerated systems, HVAC, pumps, fans, wastewater system, RO/Nano systems, etc. Performs preventative maintenance on utility equipment and plant systems. Examines, inspects, repairs or replaces components on plant utility equipment, to maintain operational standards and efficiencies of Glanbia Nutritionals. Responds to trouble calls relating to utility systems. Secures a Forklift Operator Certification within 60 days of employment. Proficiency in the work order module of the Maintenance Management System used in the Corona facility. Cycles equipment or system to assure safe and correct operation. Sets up and safely operates tools typically found in a maintenance environment, (lathe, drill press, grinder, welder, etc.). Must be able to work and handle chemicals safely of a caustic or acidic nature. Enforces company policies, safety procedures Must be competent in performing all daily tasks required in all areas of utility plant as well as performing customer compliant testing within the different systems maintained by the utilities group. Communicates quickly and effectively at all levels of the organization and perform all assignments given by Supervisors or Upper Management Team Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.

Qualification & Experience Requirements

Education, Training:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) License or Certification with boiler operation.

Experience Required:
Minimum of five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience with utility/facility support equipment.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions finished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Ability to solve practical problems Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Must be able to interpret an extensive variety of technical data in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables to arrive at a reasonable solution. Ability to work with amino acids, vitamins and fine chemicals in powder and liquid form as well as allergen products.

Language, Computer & Numeracy:
Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and written Ability to verbally communicate in a technical manner with employees and contacts including outside vendors, suppliers, contractors, and customers. Ability to read, analyze and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measures, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to interpret bar graphs

Typical Physical Activity

Physical Demands Regularly involves talking or listening, sitting, and the use of hands and fingers. Regularly involves going up and down stairs. Physical Requirements Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 100 pounds. Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, works with the fingers, and perceives attributes of objects and materials. Involves moderate physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of a primarily administrative nature. Should be able to identify and distinguish colors, see clearly at 20 inches or closer and 20 feet or more, observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point, judge distances and spatial relationships, and adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus.

May be exposed to moderate noise levels (i.e. office equipment, light traffic). May be exposed to moderate to high noise levels (i.e. production equipment, forklifts, heavy traffic). May be exposed to humidity, intense heat and cold, outdoor weather conditions, and fumes and toxic chemicals. May work in areas with mechanical moving parts, above ground with risk of fall, or areas with risk of electrical shock.
