DESCRIPTION KEY ROLE
Develop next generation optical systems incorporating Peak Nano’s proprietary nano-layered polymer gradient index of refraction (LGRIN) optical lenses for a wide range of markets including defense, biomedical, automation, and entertainment. Working as part of an agile metrology development team reporting directly to the Development Director, the successful candidate will work closely with the development and production teams in the optical metrology lab conducting experiments and production procedures.
Lead the day-to-day operations of the optical metrology lab. Includes priority scheduling of experiments and ensuring timely deliveries. Developing procedures to organize incoming material and disposition of test elements and results.
Evaluate quality of LGRIN materials and optics using commercial optical metrology equipment (e.g., microscopes, interferometers, spectro-photometers, line profilometer, etc.)
Work with the optics design team to develop procedures for component and system wavefront and environmental testing from prototypes through production
Create finished goods QC specifications and procedures. Including specification conformance documentation, handling, and shipping requirements
Vendor qualification for optical coatings, bonding doublets, and edge treatments
QUALIFICATIONS
BS in Physics, Optics, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or relevant experience
Experience in optics laboratories designing, assembling, aligning, and executing experiments for both imaging and non-imaging optical systems
Experience in lab management
Experience in optical component manufacturing or inspection
Proficiency in ISO 9001 QMS requirements
Possession of excellent written and oral communication skills
