Lab Assistant

Tyvak Nano-Satellite Systems Inc., a Terran Orbital company, is seeking a motivated and experienced Lab Assistant at our Irvine, CA location. Tyvak is a leading worldwide provider of nanosatellite and microsatellite vehicles, services, and solutions to Commercial and Government customers. As the Lab Assistant, the candidate will work across divisions and business units to ensure production facilities and lab processes and spaces are maintained and meet quality assurance principles and guidelines.


Responsibilities


Ensuring workstation are clear of FOD and trash and are checked for cleanliness Responsible for maintaining filled consumables including IPA bottles, chem wipes, Kapton tape dispensers, napkin bins, etc. Monitoring and ordering consumables with low supply Responsible for ensuring sufficient epoxy supply by either mixing epoxy syringes or working with external supply source Auditing decontamination cabinet to verify contents are ready for cleanroom entry. Monitor and maintain decontamination machine. Perform lab maintenance activities Implement workstation and lab area cleanliness evaluations and auditable checks Establish metrics and report on FOD findings, station cleanliness, etc Maintain and monitor all lab equipment calibration activities. Responsible for working with external calibration suppliers and scheduling calibration activities on-site and shipments for off-site activities. Monitor and evaluate all ESD workstations regularly. Maintain list of all calibrated equipment and associated calibration schedules. Establish metrics schedule for out-of-cal equipment. Established frequent and periodic checks and audit of all lab test equipment. Interface with engineers and technicians to improve lab and cleanroom workflow and architecture Position will require being very hands-on and will require standing for extended periods of time


Requirements


Associates degree or applicable trade skills and/or certifications 2+ years of experience (internship time is counted) in a technical laboratory or manufacturing facility working with cross-disciplinary engineering teams To comply with U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to

DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:


Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical discipline Documentation and configuration management experience Experience writing manuals and documenting lab metrics Experience with highly technical equipment and tools Basic understanding of calibration efforts
