Contract Packer

At Plasma Technology, we provide tools for the engineering of micro- and nano-structures, with customers using our process solutions to research and produce materials and semiconductors vital for everything from medical devices and diagnostics, to electric cars and quantum computers.

We are looking for an experienced Packer to join our Packing team. Your primary role is packing of electronic capital equipment for export across the globe. Your role will also include managing stock levels of packaging materials and providing support to other areas within our Materials Handling department as required.

This is a contract position for an initial period of 3 months. The role will require working on a rotating shift pattern.

Key responsibilities
System Packing: (Key)
Ensure OIPT packing standards are maintained to ensure goods arrive undamaged.
Update Team Leader of stock levels of packaging materials in line with predicted requirements.
Load shipments onto vehicles for onward shipment.
Ensure packing is completed in line with the requirements relating to secure cargo.
Process Return to Vendor (RTV) requests.

Manual Handling: (As and when required)
Ensure all movements of goods is performed in a safe manner utilising the correct equipment for each job.

Person Specification – Essential requirements unless stated
English and Maths to numeracy and literacy.
Computer literacy
Demonstrable experience of Packing
Clear communicator
Able bodied (some lifting (< 25kgs) involved).
FLT licence preferred
Able to work in a team and positively contributes to the team to achieve departmental/company goals. Shares information and knowledge to improve own and others contribution to the business.
Takes responsibility for his/her own work, and seeks ways to continually improve the level of customer satisfaction, internally and externally
Tidy and clean in appearance and work practice
Punctuality
