Field Service Engineer - East Midlands (based) and region North.

This field-based role reports to the UK Service Manager, our Field Service Engineers provide all aspects of service support and is the main face of the company to our customers.
You will need to be located ideally in the East Midlands area in order to efficiently cover your territory, providing field support to our customers including, maintenance servicing, repair and installation of our Electron Microscopy Sample Preparation equipment together with a range of other Microscopy equipment sold by Leica Microsystems in UK, with some potential European travel in the Northern European region.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
You will perform breakdown repairs, maintenance, and installations at customers' sites.
Respond to customer support calls within an assigned territory, with travel to other regions as and when required.
Become technically proficient in the support of our wide range of Leica Nano devices, so you can provide world class support to our customer base.
Complete all administrative operations within the target timelines providing detailed service reports for all service activities.
Being the face of Leica to our customers you must efficiently deliver our service to minimize customer downtime and costs whilst taking ownership of all assigned, unscheduled, customer maintenance visits, scheduling and delivering them within the customers’ expectations.
It’s a key part of the role to build relationships with customers by fostering a positive and professional attitude to exceed their expectations
Additional Responsibility’s
Work closely, when required, with our RA/QA team to report any defects or PMDR (Potential Medical Device Reporting) issues that may arise.
Support our approved third-party suppliers to ensure smooth operation and integration of their equipment with ours.
Manage tools and test equipment inventory, ensure that diagnostic tools and kept calibrated and in full working order.
OUR EXPECTATIONS
Be flexible and able to travel, covering mainly northern UK, but also from time to time expected to cover other areas of the UK upon request. Also on occasion requests to travel abroad, both for training and supporting customers.
Ideally qualified to HNC level in Engineering (mechatronics, electronics etc) or equivalent experience accepted.
Knowledge of pressure/vacuum systems an advantage.
Experience of Microscopy an advantage but not essential.
Full Clean Driving licence.
Good/sound knowledge and skills with IT, experience with Service Max/SFDC an advantage
Fluency in English, excellent communication skills a must, both with customers and internally within the team.
The ability to work independently and part of a team essential.
Be engaged in personal growth with a good sense of self awareness.
Commercially aware around identifying business opportunities driving growth within the business.
