Project Lead (Operational Excellence

At Oxford Instruments Plasma Technology, we provide tools for the engineering of micro- and nano-structures, with customers using our process solutions to research and produce materials and semiconductors vital for everything from medical devices and diagnostics, to electric cars and quantum computers.

This role is key in supporting the delivery of Project Equinox, and Operational Excellence generally, across Plasma Technology. You will be responsible for leading cross functional project teams to achieve successful delivery of improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities :
Operational Excellence
Successful delivery of improvement projects by achieving project objectives within required time scales.
Lead cross functional project teams, demonstrating effective communication with team members and stakeholders.
Participate as a team member in other projects with a high degree of contribution.
Practice Lean Six Sigma tool sets throughout improvement projects.
Share and train others with the application and best use of Lean Six Sigma tools.
Drive improvements to correct resolution using effective data analysis.
Contribute towards defining and measuring new projects opportunities that feed into the business project hopper.
Participation with 6s audits across the site, develop action plans for improvement and support functional managers to achieve a high level of expected standards.
Provide regular project updates detailing progression against plan with any associated risks.

Education / Qualifications:
Black belt in Lean Six Sigma or equivalent.

Professional Skills/ Abilities: Project management capabilities. Clarity of forward thinking & contingency planning. Highly computer literate and capable of using software platforms. Goal focussed, innovative & clear thinking under pressure. Able to work on your own initiative, contribute to teams and build effective relationships with other functions in Plasma. Adaptable at managing project uncertainty and risk mitigation. Effective communicator with influencing and negotiating skills.

Personal Qualities : Shares information and knowledge to improve own and others contribution to the business. Takes responsibility for your work, and continually seek to improve the level of customer satisfaction, internally and externally. Highly committed team player who positively contributes to the team to achieve departmental & company goals. Flexible, co-operative and able to adapt to change. Punctual and self-disciplined. Data driven individual with ability to analyse and interpret drivers for change.
