The post holder will be located in Central Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, UK.

The key responsibilities and duties are:

Research on kinetics measurements in FC-CVD single reactor systems and in particular on:
the role of methane and other precursor decomposition
catalyst synthesis and dynamics relevant to CNT synthesis in a co-production system
fundamental growth kinetics for CNTs from catalysts and carbon radicals
Writing of progress reports to fulfil the requirements of the grant and contribution to research publications of the University's Energy Group
Liaison and collaboration with members of the Energy Group and other research teams within the University
Organisation and attendance to project relevant meetings with members of the Carbon Hub and other academic and industrial participants

The candidate should have:
research experience, for example via a dissertation thesis, in combustion, particle reactors, chemical kinetics, aerosol science, carbon nanotube synthesis or similar
experience in analysing taking and analysing measurement data.

Appointment at Research Associate level is dependent on having a PhD. Those who have submitted but not yet received their PhD will be appointed at Research Assistant level, which will be amended to Research Associate once the PhD has been awarded.
