School Officers

St Peters is situated in the southern suburbs of Brisbane and has an approximate enrolment of 530 students. St Peter’s was founded by the Presentation Sisters in 1976. Our school’s vision and mission ask us to be a community in faith, a community in learning and a community in peace. “Learning through Christ" is our school motto, recognising that our Catholic school is centred around the teachings and actions of Jesus. Our story is particularly influenced by 3 key people of faith – St Peter, St Mary of the Cross MacKillop and Nano Nagle. St Peters focuses on students growing academically, displaying a love of learning and forming spiritually to be able to transform and enrich our world. Wellbeing for students and all community members is a key element of our school.
We are seeking School Officers to undertake, under direction from class teachers, a range of tasks in supporting the needs of students.
These positions entail support of children with additional needs.

Ideally you will have previous experience as a School Officer and/or hold a minimum a Cert 3 in Educational Support, proven communication and interpersonal skills, an understanding of the work of an early year’s classroom and supporting students with additional needs.

You will also demonstrate an ability and initiative to apply your skills in supporting students to achieve successful learning outcomes.

To be successful in this role you will:
have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education; hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement; and be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.

Estimated Start Date: Commencing February 2022 Position Tenure: Fixed Term Weeks Worked: School term weeks only (holidays unpaid) Tenure Duration (If Fixed Term): 2022 school year Total Paid Hours (per wk) & Days Required: 4 days/week (20.5 hours/week) Salary Level, Range or Hourly Rate: School Officer Level 3 - $29.77 per hour Employment Conditions: Diocesan Catholic Education Employing Authorities in Queensland Single Interest Agreement As from 23 January 2022 all BCE Schools will be an environment where all employees are fully COVID vaccinated as directed by the Queensland Chief Health Officer.

This position involves working with children. The appointment of successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child related employment in accordance with the law.
