META is seeking a Global Quality Director to manage quality systems across our multiple locations. Although META is headquartered in Dartmouth - this position could be done from other locations within Canada. This position will provide leadership to establish and sustain quality levels that meet or exceed customer expectations in automotive, medical, aerospace and consumer electronics for the research, development and manufacturing divisions. The Global Quality Director will implement and maintain a statistical-based quality system, develop and maintain quality systems in compliance with ISO, AS and TS standards, and drive continuous improvement with our suppliers and subcontractors through strong quality relationships.

What You’ll Do:
Determine the overall quality strategy to align with the overall business strategic plan Build strong quality systems to drive a robust infrastructure and resources required to achieve business objectives. Ensures internal processes and metrics are aligned to create the highest product quality and competitive advantage. Provide leadership throughout the phase-gate process Foster strong relationships with customers and vendors that effectively relates the quality function to the business. Act as the management representative for QMS requirements. Develop, coordinate and maintain a quality system in compliance with ISO9001, 13485/AS9001/TS16949. Implement and maintain the necessary programs to support the Corporate Quality Policy and Quality System. Oversee the corporate wide risk management program, develop and maintain a written corporate risk management plan and annual evaluation of the plans' effectiveness. Develop and maintain policies and procedures related to the corporate risk management program. Coordinate investigations of internal and external customer quality issues to ensure timely closed-loop corrective actions and reports as required. Organize the quality department, approving plans and expenditures necessary to achieve objectives. Support supplier quality programs: conduct/coordinate supplier audits as needed to meet objectives. Drive efforts to reduce cost of non-conformance and other key metrics, such as warranty, RMA’s, supplier ratings and final yield. Partner with the Directors of Manufacturing and Supply Chain to create and direct programs to ensure the quality of the product. Consistently exceed customer expectations for product delivery and quality. Provide training and leadership and represent a positive and enthusiastic role model to ensure high engagement across the team. Participate in identifying transaction opportunities and related due diligence, negotiation, and post-acquisition integration. Coach team leaders on leadership development and assist in creating development and training plans. Accountable for developing and monitoring processes and practices necessary for legal and ethical compliance in assigned areas. Manage the company compliance registrations and regulations.
Must Haves:
Bachelor's Degree, preferably in business, engineering, or a related technical field. 10 -15 years of relevant work experience Minimum ten years of quality management experience, which includes experience in Quality Systems Experience with quality assurance (QA) administration, QA engineering, QA audits. Inspection and test experience within manufacturing. Experience working with manufacturing, R&D, accounting, information systems, materials, planning, human resources, engineering, marketing and supply chain management departments
Strong leadership and organizational skills - ability to adjust priorities to rapidly changing work environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; high level of personal accountability, integrity and honesty. Strong customer service skills, both internally and externally Challenges the status quo, proven track record of driving change and teaching/motivating individuals to develop & implement new ways of thinking and doing business. Excellent understanding of quality process and manufacturing operations. Demonstrated successful leadership in new product planning and development. Strong collaborative work ethic and ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, customers, and vendors. Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills Familiar with assorted ERP systems Up to 20% international travel required
Nice to Haves:
Quality management experience in the Aerospace or Automotive industry is preferred Original equipment manufacturer (OEM) experience is a plus. Experience working with, and supporting quality systems remotely or in multiple locations is preferred
