About the role:



We offer an exciting opportunity to join our head office team, located in Dartmouth, NS, as a Human Resources Generalist. This role will support all departments of the company, working closely with all levels of management in the development, implementation and support of programs which will ensure execution of META’s mission statement and commitment to excellence in all aspects of both internal and external human relations. The HR Generalist will also oversee and implement best policies and practices, in alignment with applicable legislation globally.



Key Responsibilities & Duties:


Work with management to set objectives and priorities in all Human Resource functions. Oversee implementation of policies that align with META’s commitment to an environment of personal responsibility, mutual respect, and healthy work/life balance. Oversee company compensation and benefits plans and manage relationships with relevant vendors and other service providers. Provide resources, guidance, and leadership to managers and employees with regard to performance management, learning, and professional development; Gather and maintain relevant data to monitor and report on key HR metrics. Develop and monitor HR initiatives. Oversee immigration and relocation processes. Maintain HR practices that comply with both applicable labour regulations and internal policies & procedures, for all locations, including timely addressing of employee requests and grievances.
Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes. Support the recruitment practice. Work with in-house and/or outside corporate counsel to ensure documentation and compliance in all HR functions.

Minimum Qualifications:


College diploma with emphasis on human resources management or equivalent. Strong knowledge of current law matters relevant to the position and, in particular, concerning legal requirements with regard to employment and privacy. Knowledge of principles, theories, and techniques related to job classification, job analysis, and job descriptions. Knowledge and experience with industry-current recruitment and retention practices, including relevant software applications. Strong presentation, written, and verbal skills. Computer literacy, including effective working skills in MS 360 and Teams Knowledge of, experience with, and ability to use general office equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:


Experience with start up companies or high growth environments. Experience with wage subsidy programs: application, administration, and oversight. Experience with a highly-technical employee pool, specializing in various engineering fields, and appreciation of the relevant specialties. Experience assisting international candidates navigate the Canada Immigration system.
