Reliability Engineer

META is seeking a Reliability Engineer for our facility in Dartmouth. You will play a key role in contributing to multiple exciting new technology programs involving META’s product reliability and integration to form factors such as smart eyewear lenses, HUD and 5G components and displays. META has a broad range of platform technologies that include metamaterials, holographic elements, optical filters, sensors, conductive films, and more.

What You’ll Do:



Your role will be assessing and determining the reliability of components, products, and processes for META’s technologies and functional films including the development of integration and packaging for long term reliability. You will support the team to innovate and develop custom processes for new products and applications, including working hands-on within a diverse, multi-disciplinary team focused upon integration of holographic and conductive films into applications including high performance imaging systems, integrated optical sub-systems and smart lenses for Augmented Reality and safety eyewear. This role includes applying reliability engineering: Planning, modeling and predictions, testing, data collection, probability and statistics, product lifetime and failure analysis. Reporting the Manager, Technology Integration & Packaging.



Some of the typical responsibilities will include:



Perform material analyses that include, but are not limited to, failure analysis of components, optical performance, life predictions, and definition of requirement specifications. Plan and execute product reliability testing and analysis Report and communicate with relevant teams on outcomes of tests/analysis. Apply general engineering knowledge to solve problems and failures Identify potential subcontractors or service providers for various products testing, procedures, tools, and subsequent evaluation.

Minimum qualifications:



Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering or related. 5 years’ experience in reliability engineering for product reliability, governmental regulations, and safety practices in relevant industry. Strong analytical thinker with the ability to deliver original, innovative ideas and approaches to difficult problems. Experience with an innovative, fast paced environment proving products meet industry standards. Experience in mechanical and material testing for optical components, bonding, and thin film layers integration.

Preferred qualifications:



Certified Reliability Engineer by recognized organization (CRE) Experience dealing with specialized products and customer requirements
