As a Project Engineer, you will be exposed to a variety of challenging objectives in a fast-moving environment. You will collaborate with a fun, close-knit team to create, engineer, implement, test, and deliver new water treatment products to clients. Qualification Requirements:
10 years or more with a proven track record in the successful delivery of engineering projects, mechanical designs, and equipment selection for water treatment systems; Engineering degree from an accredited university or recognized institution equivalent; Strong familiarity with Canadian and United States Building Codes and Standards; A professional Engineering designation; Demonstrable knowledge of the fundamentals of mechanical engineering principles inclusive of: hydraulic and sizing calculations, drawings and design practices in designing water systems, process equipment, piping, vessel, valve and instrumentation selection and design knowledge; Ability to apply advanced mathematical equations to complex situations; Ability to read, understand and create specifications as well as general arrangement, fabrication, and erection drawings; Knowledge of machining, fabrication, and assembly techniques; Strong desire to continue to learn and develop technical expertise; A working knowledge / proficient of technologies: including office suite, Autodesk Plant Design Suite or similar drafting software packages. Proficiency in Word, Excel, and other MS Office programs.
Responsibilities:
Manage the technical aspects of assigned projects; Perform the engineering and design work required within the budget allocated to meet the requirements of Customer specifications; Bring an innovative approach to water treatment system designs, incorporating new and alternative technologies; Leverage your exceptional technical report writing and publication skills to make Customer documentation relatable, and to ensure applicable Codes, Specifications and Standards are met. Whilst proactively reviewing, critiquing, reworking plans, or redesigning related designs to add value to our Customers; Provide technical assistance to your cross-functional Engineering colleagues, Field and Operations staff, Project Management, Procurement, Sales and Marketing, and supports product improvement effort;. Experience of working alongside decentralized engineering teams, focused on the delivery of world class water treatment solutions; The ability to guide and mentor team members by providing technical direction and supervision to junior engineers, or other technical personnel. Whilst designing and selecting equipment to ensure we are fully compliant of Customer required Codes and Standards; A true aptitude for designing water filtration solutions, such as media filtration, ultra, nano and reverse osmosis membrane filtration; Hands on experience of designing water pumping systems and pumping stations, water pipelines and force mains, or water collection systems; Municipal/Domestic or industrial water treatment plants, including advanced facilities with SBR, MBBR, MBR, lift stations, headworks, UV disinfection systems, aerobic and anaerobic digesters, or lagoons; Gathering, analyzing and conducting studies to identify alternatives for client solutions; Experience with conducting feasibility studies for the design and construction of water related and treatment facilities; Interpretation experience of translating engineering specifications and plans into recommendations for alternative water treatment methods to prepare water for downstream use and/or disposal.
Travel will be 20% or more and all government travel requirements will apply
This position will be based in Canada, and reporting into the USA.
