Project Manager

At Oxford Instruments, we enable the world’s leading industrial companies and scientific research communities to image, analyse and manipulate materials down to the atomic and molecular level. Our customers use our NanoScience ultra-low temperature and high magnetic field environments to go beyond what was once thought possible, whether that’s creating Nobel Prize winning materials or developing quantum computers to solve the world’s most complex problems.

Oxford Instruments NanoScience is a world-leading manufacturer, creating scientific instruments that are used in ground-breaking research. We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to join our team and oversee projects from order to installation and help keep our orders on track!

If you are a Project Manager, with experience of working in a technical engineering environment and are happy to manage various projects - where no two are likely to be the same - then we would love to hear from you.

The opportunity

In this role you will be responsible for the management of multiple projects, ensuring that they are delivered on time and to the required specification by leading, managing and motivating various teams of multi-disciplined resources. You will ensure that each project adheres to the business project management process and are progressing to plan whilst having a high degree of autonomy to achieve these goals. Due to the nature of our business and technology, many of our products have bespoke elements to them, making this a varied and interesting role. You will provide status reports to the customer, Head of Projects and Customer Management, the Exec Team and other internal stakeholders on a regular basis.

About you

It is likely that you will have good technical grounding with a degree in a relevant technical subject, such as engineering or physics. Previous experience of working as a Project Manager, managing high volume, high value complex technical or engineering projects, where you will have used Project Management processes and techniques is essential. You will be experienced at working in a high pressured, dynamic environment, be organised and able to prioritise your workload, as well as having excellent communication skills.

Benefits

In addition to a competitive starting salary, Oxford Instruments offers flexible working hours and a half-day on Fridays. We also offer 25 days annual leave, private healthcare, a share incentive plan, a defined contribution Group Personal Pension Plan, and a flexible benefits package that you can tailor to your own requirements. We also invest in our talented employees by supporting them in their ongoing career and development so that they reach their full potential. We care and work hard to provide a workplace where you can grow and learn. #LI-JR1
