Interests

Our team of Research focusses on multiple streams including Energy Generation & storage, Environmental care and Health care by developing and fabricating appropriate nanostructures. 1. Energy Generation and Storage:  The economically feasible electrode materials for supercapacitors to store energy and to perform environmental applications were designed using graphene based nanocomposites and metal oxide nanocomposites.  Investigation on fabricating cost efficient graphene nanosheets from chemical based and biomass based sources followed by different strategies. 2. Environmental care:  Developing Ice-bath and Room temperature assisted nanostructures and formulating crystal structure in order to engineer bandgap.  Target on degrading different dye components and water contaminants with the support of synthesizing Bi based nanostructures including BiFeO3,Bi2WO6 etc., and in suggesting faster degrading appropriate composition of defect induced nanostructures.  Designing a smart coating nano-materials to safeguard solar cells from external damages.  Fabricating effective electromagnetic shielding ability holded nano-material to prevent electromagnetic radiation on the desired surface.  Developing large size Magnetic nano-material based membrane for actuators through cost effective process for defence applications.  Fe based magnetic materials including oxides and nitrates and their composites with graphene derivates for electromagnetic shielding application.  Semarium Iron based magnetic materials for hard magnet applications. 3. Health care:  Engineering the structure and stability of biomaterials by incorporating and substituting various metal ions on the network.  The bioactivity , hemo- and cyto-compatibility of the bioactive glass and antibacterial efficacy, protein absorption for various compositions of Bioactive glasses are being investigated.  Stabilizing single phase in bioglass and detailed investigation on crystal structure are focused.  Developing bioactive glass and metal oxide nano-composite to treat dental requirements.  Scaffold and hydrogels of appropriate compositions to treat bone defects and for periodontal dental regeneration.  Developing Bioglass based artificial cornea in-order to investigate degradation and bioactivity pf the nano-bioactive glass.  Fabricating better bioactive material based hydrogel to act as a better haemostat with compatible and antibacterial properties.
